Naming Opportunities

Remembering the Vision, Continuing the Mission

The new Champion Center is being built at the heart of campus and will serve as a guiding light to our organization by keeping Dr. Falwell’s vision for this university alive and in the forefront of the hearts of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends.

With the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains, our beautiful campus will have this building in a central location, which will speak to our deep historical roots as well as our desire to remain innovative and on-mission in the future.

This message will be pronounced through the center’s Rising Flame Theater, Path of Champions, Legacy Rotunda, Heritage Showcase, expansive top-level gardens, and other powerfully impactful spaces. These spaces and others comprise various naming opportunities for you to consider.

Throughout this webpage, you will learn more about The Champion Center and details regarding numerous naming opportunities as a way of honoring important loved ones or creating a lasting family legacy.

Please take a moment to peruse the content and join us in making sure we seize this important moment by helping us build The Champion Center, which will keep God’s vision alive for future generations of Champions for Christ.

We encourage you to prayerfully consider which naming opportunity is right for you and your family and contact Brian Mentzer, Senior Vice President of Development.

The rich history, faith-based heritage, and incredible story recounting how God’s Hand moved in the foundation and growth of Liberty University will be shared powerfully here.

The Rising Flame Theater will be the beating pulse of The Champion Center — the place where our amazing history and bright future will be brought to life to ensure that we stay true to our mission as we move into the future.

Narrated primarily by Dr. Jerry Falwell, this cinematic experience and visually captivating story will allow visitors to consider the vision and the calling that God has placed on their hearts.

Every year, thousands will visit The Theater and experience our vision of Training Champions for Christ. What a significant space to name in honor of a significant person God used in your life.

Connect with us to name the Path after a beloved Champion for Christ from your life.

The Event Space

8,496 SQ. FT. | 630 Occupancy

Consider naming the largest and most versatile location in the facility and creating a lasting impact that many will appreciate for decades to come.

The Event Space will offer students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests the opportunity to experience catered events, open forums, reunions, national business meetings, conventions, and other social gatherings. The Space is an upscale environment designed to host a wide range of special occasions.

As guests enter, they are greeted with an array of screens displaying details of their event, set within a space where beautiful interiors meld seamlessly with media content tailored specifically for their occasion — all designed to be inspired by Dr. Jerry Falwell’s vision to Train Champions for Christ, and made possible with the support of friends like you.

Legacy Rotunda

ENTRANCE

Magnificence is the essence of the Legacy Rotunda, which serves as an exclusive secondary entrance to The Champion Center for special events, with a majestic garden space serving as a stunning backdrop.

The Rotunda will emphasize and highlight the godly legacy that we’ve been privileged to be the beneficiaries of at Liberty.

The space is designed to inspire students to also leave a legacy as Champions for Christ, and may be the space where you ensure the legacy of a beloved for generations through this naming opportunity.

The Core

2,973 SQ. FT. | 90 OCCUPANCY

The Core is a dynamic entrance to the Rising Flame Theater. Your support could be recognized and remembered in one of the most iconic and customizable spaces in the facility.

With the 360º video wall, The Core will fully immerse visitors in a larger-than-life overview of LU in order to build anticipation for the presentation in the Rising Flame Theater.

Featuring slow-moving footage, unique perspectives, and dramatic scenes, this room will help set the mood for the upcoming cinematic experience.

Fireside Cafe

1,439 SQ. FT. | 102 OCCUPANCY

Liberty has an excellent reputation for serving delicious varieties of healthy foods and beverages, and many of our supporters choose to name the spaces where our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests experience our heart for hospitality.

The Fireside Cafe in the Center will be the shining example of culinary excellence, with an inviting and clean space for all its visitors to enjoy mouth-watering meals as they study, converse, enjoy one another’s company, and reflect on the importance of Training Champions for Christ.

The Fireside Cafe features elements of stone, brick, and wood, and includes comfortable indoor seating around fireplaces, and outdoor seating around warming firepits. This casual quick-service eatery will serve thousands of students and visitors annually.

  • Fireplaces (Indoors)
  • Firepits (Outdoors)

Heritage Showcase

EXPERIENCE

One of the first spaces that visitors encounter is the Heritage Showcase, which tells the story of our beginning and the miracle that is Liberty University. The presentation moves from Dr. Falwell claiming Joshua 1:3 as he walked every square foot of this campus in prayer, to the beautiful facilities that we have today.

God has truly blessed Liberty University, but it didn’t happen overnight, and it required the partnership of many friends like you who believed in our mission.

This space will set the stage for the rest of the story, visually bringing the mission of Training Champions for Christ to life and giving historical context to our growth and development over the years. Consider highlighting God’s faithfulness to your family heritage by naming the Heritage Showcase.

The Concourse

CONNECTION ATRIUM

With its open and bright plan, the Concourse is the “glue” that holds all of The Champion Center together.

Your gift to name this area can help unite all the other spaces of The Champion Center and place the mission and vision of Liberty University into the hearts of all who pass through the Concourse.

By harnessing the power of impactful technology, Dr. Falwell’s vision for Liberty University is uniquely communicated. Here students and families will enjoy conversations and reflections as they stroll through experience alcoves and meet with our incredible staff to discuss their purpose and LU.

Energy Portal

EXPERIENCE

Transitions can serve as key points in our lives. We have this reality reflected in The Champion Center with the vibrant Energy Portal which serves to transport students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests from the outside world of Liberty’s campus to The Core and the Rising Flame Theater.

The Portal will help spark interest in the ministry of Liberty for those who pass through its dynamic corridor. How many sparks will begin to be fanned into Flames in this space?

That makes it a wonderful place to honor someone who served as a guiding light during a time of transition in your life.

Lobby

WALKWAY & PRAYER ROOM

If you would like your generosity and legacy to help welcome people into one of the first spaces people will experience in the Center.

This space will serve as both the primary and secondary entrances to The Champion Center. Guests will be welcomed by a clean, bright, and inviting atmosphere. A prayer room for students and visitors is accessible from the Lobby to call on God and contemplate His vision for them personally.

Vision Vista Rooftop Garden

OUTDOOR SPACE

The Vision Vista Rooftop Garden offers expansive green spaces and gardens with seating areas that overlook the scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains — perfect for relaxation and recreation.

Located on the top of the Center, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests will enjoy special events and a peaceful atmosphere to the fullest using the seating space to unwind and reflect.

They will find themselves grateful to the supporter who gave to help create the Vision Vista. Celebrate the name of a visionary in your life by naming the Vision Vista Rooftop Garden in their honor.

Additional Naming Opportunities

Along with the Vision Vista, these alternative naming opportunities are available as well:

  • Gardens
  • Hammocks (an LU student favorite)
